FOR PARENTS

Reality Check for Delaware, Otsego, and Schoharie counties is a New York State Department of Health Program grant held by St. Peters Health Partners located in Albany. Youth work to educate and empower others in their communities to take action against Big Tobacco through activities such as tobacco retailer observations, tabling, meetings with government officials and peer-to-peer education.

Youth Engagement Coordinator Nicole Schuck runs the program through a strengths-based perspective, utilizing skills students have and giving them opportunities to showcase their talents.

Reality Check programming offers opportunities for youth to bolster their resumes, social skills and event planning. Youth will be encouraged and supported in learning about local and state government structure. Reality Check youth are given access to a statewide network of individuals who will support them in future advocacy and support in achieving their own desired goals.
